Colour and Chi Kung Summer Retreat by Korani On the last weekend in June we took to the hills in Somerset for inspiration, rest and rejuvenation on the first Colour and Chi Kung Retreat. “The retreat was perfect in every way. A wonderful location, brilliant teachers, delicious food and an amazingly special experience.” Elaine ![]() We were blessed to enjoy the company of a wonderful group of women, who came together to heal, to nurture themselves and to engage with the power of Colour and Chi Kung. Though we have known since the beginning how beautifully these two systems complement and enhance each other it was made very obvious on this retreat. There seems to be an exponential effect when the two are combined, a case of 1+1 = 100… “Uplifting, energising, centering, deeply profound and very moving. All elements beautifully dovetailed into a living programme.” Joy Through movement, flow, meditation, reflection and healing we connected with the Earth and Fire elements and engaged with the colours and movements that enabled both deep grounding and then opening and expansion. The summertime is ‘Fire’ season so we worked with red, orange, yellow and gold as well as the rich copper tones of Earth, the element which so beautifully supports all others at all times of the year. ![]() On the Friday evening a group colour reading revealed what they had come together to do and what they were needing most. It was no surprise – all were in need of rest, space and relaxation. We had several over-worked mothers and others who lead full and busy lives so we spent much time on grounding and resourcing with the nourishing Earth element. On Friday night and Saturday we encouraged the group to take the journey deep into themselves and deep into the beautiful coppery Earth. The nurturing, grounding and replenishing Earth energies, exercises and colours resourced them and prepared them, so that by Sunday they were ready to open to the passion and creativity of the Fire element, with rich, vibrant, flaming colours and opening, expansive movements. There was a real feeling of a journey undertaken through the weekend, and from the feedback we received, all left feeling they had shifted or changed in some way. It was a joy to work with such a committed and open-hearted group and we look forward very much the next retreat! “The retreat was the sacred space that not only provided the time and support but also helped me to ground, allowing me to discover my own sacred centre of power.” Claudia “Support, freedom, escape, discovery of truth.” Anne “Wonderful, amazing. Lots to take away and think about. When’s the next one?!”“ Sylvia We all enjoyed the beauty and peace at Croydon Hall and would like to thank the team there for their loving support. |
